The Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of children in need within our community, and provides funding for youth in crisis, youth health initiatives, youth baseball programs, and youth education. The Texas Rangers sponsor three of our programs in Dallas, Arlington and Fort Worth. This active collaboration with the Rangers Foundation is entering its seventh year and we feel so fortunate to have teamed up with this amazing organization. As we looked to expand our programs in Texas, we heard about the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation and their outstanding track record of service to the community. We partnered with them in the spring of 2011; combining our resources to get into more schools and reaches more students. They were so excited about implementing the just keep livin program to empower teenagers to live healthier lives and they have truly embraced all aspects of the program.
They organize events and activities, which their staff participates in, and they involve other members of the Texas Rangers family as well. We are proud of this partnership and we look forward to continued success together.
Washington Redskins Partnership:
In the Fall of 2014, we launched a partnership with the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation to bring one after school fitness/wellness program to a local high school in the DC area. In this collaboration, we are working with Georgia Avenue Family Support Collaborative (GAFSC) to implement our program and we are so excited about the success of the first year of this program in the Nation’s capital.
The mission of the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation is to utilize the assets of the Washington Redskins and its corporate and community partners to make a positive and measurable impact on youth development in the greater Washington, D.C. region in the areas of education, community outreach, and health and wellness. The Foundation is led by Dan Snyder, Jay Gruden, Bruce Allen and a large team of dedicated members of the community who are committed to making a positive impact in the DC region. We look forward to continuing to work with the entire staff of the foundation to truly impact these children in DC.
Brees Dream Partnership:
Brittany and Drew Brees founded their Brees Dream Foundation in 2003 with a mission to improve the quality of life and provide opportunities for children and families in need. The Brees Dream Foundation is a co-sponsor for two of our programs in New Orleans. We partnered up with BDF in the fall of 2011 to pilot one program at Warren Easton Charter High School and we have since added another school, Landry Walker High School. We combined resources in this collaboration and have been thrilled with the success thus far. We were thrilled to be able to add a third program – Cohen High School.
With Brittany and Drew’s commitment to New Orleans and their passion for the local community, we are able to implement our programs in more schools to reach more students. We are so fortunate to have their support on the ground in New Orleans as we continue to expand our partnership.
Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Partnership:
We are honored to have first received a grant from the LADF in the Fall of 2016 to sponsor two JKL programs in Los Angeles – Animo Inglewood Charter High School and Manual Arts High School. Our partnership with them started off strong as we brought approximately 100 JKL students to their 5K fundraiser race to kick things off. We were thrilled to hear that they wanted to continue to sponsor these two programs for the 2017-2018 school year. The LADF provides so much more than funding – they have invited our students to participate in a College and Career Acceleration Panel, to attend several Dodgers games (one in Andre Ethier’s personal suite!), gifted them with New Balance gear, and more. The LADF is focused on finding innovative ways to create opportunities for children through programs that engage with kids in sports, help kids stay active and promote academic success. We are honored to count them as partners!
Target Corporation Partnership
In the Fall of 2016, we were awarded a $180,000 grant from Target, providing funding for six new JKL programs – two in Los Angeles (University High School and Huntington Park High School), two in Dallas (Sunset High School and Carter High School) and two in Washington D.C. (Ballou High School and Anacostia High School). We are honored that Target chose to come back on board for the 2017-2018 school year to continue to sponsor these six thriving programs. Target has been such dedicated and instrumental partners of ours and have created so many special opportunities to our students in addition to the funding they provide. One of our favorite events we partner with them on is our annual Mack, Jack & McConaughey fashion show, hosted by our own Camila McConaughey, for which Target generously provides $100 gift cards for our local Austin JKL students to buy new outfits to wear to attend the show. For Target, supporting communities through giving has always been a cornerstone of their business and a belief that guides so many of their decisions. Each year, they’ve given 5 percent of their profit to communities, which today equals millions of dollars a week. They sponsor wellness and education programs, arts and cultural institutions, support families recovering from a disaster, practice sustainability throughout our business, and more.
